Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern psychotherapeutic approach and is based on up-to-date neuroscientific research on how the brain works.
It is Practical, structured, well researched, and with measured outcomes. It is also future-focused and goal-oriented. Combining the most successful elements of other therapeutic approaches such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP); along with the latest understandings of how the brain works, and hypnosis (sometimes referred to as trance). These methods combined bring about significant positive & lasting changes for my clients, and in a relatively short space of time.
The practice of Hypnotherapy combines Psychotherapy and Hypnosis. Psychotherapy on its own is incredibly beneficial and involves talking together to help clients overcome their difficulties. It is often referred to as a talking therapy. The effects of Psychotherapy are further enhanced by the use of Hypnosis, which enables the subconscious mind to make beneficial changes. Hypnosis (or trance) is a very natural relaxed state to be in. It uses guided relaxation and mental imagery so that the mind can relax and focus on thoughts and suggestions that might be helpful.
The type of Psychotherapy we practice in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is ‘Solution Focused’ Therapy and is designed to reduce anxiety and calm the mind. And exactly as its name suggests, it focuses on finding solutions for your future, rather than analysing problems of the past.
Provided that the client is willing to make positive changes to the way they think, this form of therapy can be incredibly effective in relieving the symptoms of stress, anxiety disorders, and many other issues. Focusing our minds on finding solutions means that we do not dwell on the problems. Instead, we acknowledge where you are currently, identify where you want to be, and help you to make the necessary changes to achieve your desired outcome.
As mentioned above, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy achieves positive outcomes fairly rapidly. Stopping smoking can be achieved with 1 session and specific phobias in around 4 sessions. For anxiety, performance issues, behavioural changes, and other issues, results can be achieved on average in 8-12 sessions, sometimes less and sometimes more depending upon the individual.
